ABSTRACT
Many factors determine the efficiency of a geriatric department and the quality of life of the patients admitted. Simple guidelines which should enable the geriatrician to assess these aspects in his unit are outlined in this chapter. If the service is to operate successfully there must be a regular wide-ranging review of its performance.
