ABSTRACT

This chapter sets out to give insights into multicultural aspects of international entrepreneurship. It puts forward theoretical arguments to bring on board the notion of professional culture and properly grasp how this influences globalization endeavors (i.e. activities aimed at exploring and seizing international business opportunities). Specifically, we discuss whether a common global entrepreneurial culture exists before going on to talk about its effects on entrepreneurial network development. First, we explain our view of international entrepreneurship, centered on networking. We then look back at how literature to date has dealt with cultural aspects in international entrepreneurship, and we define the notion of professional culture, with a particular focus on how far international entrepreneurial culture goes. Finally, we zoom in on the role of such culture in SME globalization.
