ABSTRACT
The prevalence of senile dementia increases with age and since the elderly population in most Western countries is increasing rapidly the problem is one demanding more current research. In this particular study we have from the outset addressed ourselves to the central question: Can syndrome cases be detected reliably in the initial phases of the disease? The need for early diagnosis is clearly of great importance both for the individuals concerned and for society in terms of providing the required supporting services.
