ABSTRACT

The paper reports on a small section of the work of a project concerned with developing a health education strategy for older people. The study provided an assessment of the work of a range of paid carers and reviewed the possibilities for more innovative work aimed at people from middle age onwards. Interviews were carried out with community nurses (health visitors and district nurses), social workers, sheltered housing wardens and home helps. (Phillipson and Strang, 1984).
