ABSTRACT

This chapter demonstrates the impact of a masters-level Lesson Study module on the development of Lesson Study within the context of all-through school for children aged 4–16. The authors of this chapter design their collaborative Lesson Study and share a case description of their experience and findings. Their Lesson Study focuses on improving secondary pupils’ extended writing when responding to literary texts. The chapter concludes that Lesson Study supported pupils to become independent and critical thinkers who can articulate their thoughts in a sustained and sophisticated manner.
