ABSTRACT

This chapter describes work in a UK child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS). The multidisciplinary team included the professions of child and adolescent psychiatry, clinical psychology, child psychotherapy, art psychotherapy, nursing and social work. The wide range of services offered included prioritising children separated from their birth families and living in the care of social services, and a specialist service for adopted children and their families (Hendry and Vincent, 2002).
