ABSTRACT
East Anglia is the smallest region in mainland Britain in terms of population. Only Northern Ireland is smaller among the national listing of eleven Standard Regions. The three counties of Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire together are also the most sparsely populated of the English regions. However, this region has also been the fastest growing in the country over the past decade, whether looked at in terms of employment, population or output.
