ABSTRACT
In this concluding chapter we attempt to draw together some of the main issues and themes which have emerged from the individual contributions to the book, and to emphasise the linkages between them. The discussion is organised according to the sections in the book although several recurring themes cut across these book sections. While the main title of the book is FDI and the Global Economy, the intention was that the collection would embrace aspects of both the corporate and institutional dynamics at several spatial scales implicit within the notion of global-localisation. The fact that certain themes recur throughout the book highlights the difficulty in discussing and analysing issues at global, regional, national and subnational levels in isolation from, and without an understanding of, the context formed at the other territorial scales.
