ABSTRACT

The Integration Alliance is a broad-based group of people and organisations who are campaigning for the introduction of new legislation which will ensure the right of all young people with any kind of disability or learning difficulty to a fully supported mainstream education. In this chapter, Micheline Mason, a co-founder of the Integration Alliance, outlines the obstructions encountered by various groups who were fighting separately for the same goal: ex-students with disabilities, teachers with disabilities, parents with disabilities, and parents of children with disabilities. She ends by talking of the need for allies to work with the Integration Alliance.
