ABSTRACT
SOLOMON DESCRIBES THE CONSCIOUS theatrical iza- tion of AIDS issues in order to capture media attention and catalyze political action. This article was written in 1989 during the heady early days of ACT UP, the group most responsible for mobilization around AIDS in the US.
