ABSTRACT
THE CARE of the baby has been very much emphasized at the Seminar, but many people may feel that, after all, babies have grown up during the last hundred thousand years in spite of the most extraordinary conditions. For example, among the nomadic Lapps the baby born at night has a better chance of survival than the baby born by day, when the people are on the move, and there is no chance of rest for the mother.
