ABSTRACT
Talk in the foreign language is what most teachers consider to be one of the prime aims of teaching and learning. They want their learners to express genuine, personal intentions within a range of contexts and with reasonable accuracy when there is a good reason or a wish to do so. Such is the nature and purpose of talk. Talk also relies on there being a listener whose attention and interest the speaker wishes to retain.
