ABSTRACT
Some economists who where invited to contribute their life stories to the Arestis Sawyer dictionary of dissenting economists (1991) declined the invitation because they did not regard themselves as dissenters. As I have no such qualms, I had better explain how and why I came to my ‘dissenting’ views.
