ABSTRACT
The preceding chapters suggest that the purpose of support and supervision is, at times, contested. However, there is an overall view in all of the chapters in this book that support and supervision is needed for personal advisers and youth support workers. That said, it is important to question a taken-for-granted belief that support and supervision is ‘a good thing’ beyond initial professional training. This final chapter adds a cautionary note by questioning our common sense view of the importance of the practice.
