ABSTRACT

Summary: By acting as authors the students are more responsible as to what they learn and how they learn it; this leads them to test their knowledge through a critical revision. The experience described in this chapter was based on a particular role played by students, who created an assessment test working on a personal computer. The test was developed using the DELFI system in connection with a methodology based on a hierarchical model of contents. For this purpose the students have constructed the hierarchy of test contents and formulated the specific queries in an exhaustive way.

The results of this particular approach were: self- and peer-assessing about the internalization of contents; mastering the appropriate language of the subject matter; becoming aware of topic mastering.
