ABSTRACT

Initially, the free world welcomes the transformation of East Germany from a communist regime to a democratic one, along Western norms. Dividing Germany into two separate states, and stationing foreign troops there, were but a minimal punishment and a grave warning against even the shadow of a possibility of a third world war, a muzzle forced upon the uncontrollable German lust for power. Already the first four words of the German anthem, the anthem of the millions of cruel murderers, "Germany, Germany over all", express clearly the evil and arrogant aspiration to be "over all". The United States and Europe, motivated by honest concern for their safety and security, will need to keep the happenings in Germany under close scrutiny, to maintain foreign troops in East Germany, and to impose limitations on the expansion of the military power of the Germanys.
