ABSTRACT

Concurrent with the remarkable recent growth of the Asian and Pacific American population, the body of literature on Asian/Pacific Americans has gained more attention and has begun to reflect the diversity among the array of Asian/Pacific American groups in education. Many articles and other publications have attempted to counter the stereotyping, misunderstanding, and neglect of these groups and their educational problems and needs. However, it is clear that much more empirical, theoretical, and practical research needs to be done to fill many substantive gaps in our understanding of the educational experiences of Asian/Pacific Americans. We hope this book, as well as this bibliography, will assist scholars, students, teachers, administrators, parents, and other educational officials in acquainting them with many of the most important, useful, and provocative recent works on Asian/Pacific American educational topics. We also hope this publication serves to stimulate further scholarly, policy, and practical research on Asian/Pacific American education.
