ABSTRACT

The toasts rhymes, comedic and socially relevant stories featuring bad-ass sophisticates in urban, industrial communities. Malcolm X, with his Harlem slickness and poetic tongue reminds one of a toast hero. Malcolm X represents such a social revolt because he lashed out against racial codes and roles. His activity becomes a reflection of or model for, the community because he is a person easy to identify with for many Black Americans. His personal history was marked by some of the worst crises to befall Black America. Malcolm X for us is also the real version of the Bad Nigga. The Bad Nigga was a type of folk character existing throughout African American history, and transformed into a modern urban figure in the twentieth century. The Bad Nigga was primarily a figure of rebellion against given social mores. Malcolm symbolizes a rebellion not only against white authority, but also against the restrictive methodology of political activity prescribed by the Black bourgeoisie.
