ABSTRACT
Hank Williams's body had lain under Alabama soil nearly 10 full months when friend and protégé Ray Price, who now performed with Hank's old band the Drifting Cowboys, came to Grand Junction to play a dance. The group liked playing the Rockies that time of the year because they could mix performing with deer hunting at the start of hunting season.
