ABSTRACT

Designing rackets requires a thorough understanding of the relations between the playing properties of a racket (from a player point of view) and the objective mechanical properties (from an engineering point of view). The most important playing properties are:

Performance or rebound efficiency (“racket power”)

Movability (the ease to move the racket)

Control (the ability to place a ball exactly where you want it)

Comfort (to reduce body fatigue and possible injuries)
