ABSTRACT

The Wingate test has often been used for determination of anaerobic power of the lower limbs (Bar-Or, 1980, Bar-Or et al., 1980; Dotan and Bar-Or, 1983; Inbar and Bar-Or, 1986; Nakamodo et al., 1986). The relationships between the level of anaerobic power evaluated by this method and variables such as blood lactate, percentage composition of FT muscle fibres, and the average FT/ST area ratio (Bar-Or et al, 1980), as well as the activity of serum CK have been established (Pilis et al., 1988).
