ABSTRACT

The object of the paper are the results of the study on the influence of heavy metal oxides (HMO) admixture upon hydration of cement, pore structure and compressive strength of mortar and its long-term stability, further the influence of HMO upon chloride induced corrosion of concrete reinforcement (CHICR).

The obtained results showed various influence of HMO upon CHICR fluctuating from inhibitive over indifferent to very strong stimulating behaviour of HMO. The studied PbO, ZrO2 and Cr2O3 shoved positive effect upon development of compressive strength of mortar and its long-term stability. The influence of PbO showed and expressed dependence on the value of w/c ratio used.
