ABSTRACT

Investigations into the healing and corrosion characteristics of water-bearing cracks have been carried out in the course of a research project. For this purpose, a test specimen was constructed to simulate the corrosion processes on concrete structural members and the course of the corrosion process was observed during water application and the autogenous healing phase. Initial findings with regard to the influence of crack width and chloride content of the water on the corrosion process were derived from the experiments.
