ABSTRACT
The concept of jihād is one of the fundamental ones in the Islamic vocabulary. It is found in the Qur͗ān, and is considered one of the basic duties incumbent on a Muslim, in one form or another, and under certain conditions. In which form and under what condition has been a topic of theoretical debate for Muslim scholars from the early times onwards, but the perenniality of jihād as an Islamic concept is firmly established.
