ABSTRACT
In contemporary Malaysia ethnicity is a current issue. In this chapter, I shall focus on the Baba house, which is typical of one of Malaysia’s minorities, and argue that by viewing their houses as a symbol, one might acquire a combination of two aspects of ethnicity: border and content.
