The emergence of the Taieni and the Saraceni The most important information in Hippolytus, the Book of the Laws of Countries and the Uranius fragments is the appearance of the Saracens and the taenoi together with the Arabs. All three authors make a clear distinction between the three groups. This is a trustworthy piece of information since it comes from literature which is more or less independent of the theoretical approach of the Hellenistic geographers.
