ABSTRACT
This editorial serves a double purpose. It introduces a new venture, the International Yearbook of History Education, and sets out its goals and our hopes for its future. It also introduces the first edition of the Yearbook, which takes as its theme centralization and decentralization in education and the consequences of change for history education.
