ABSTRACT
For well-known reasons, the academic study of Soviet-Israeli relations was long avoided in the USSR. Virtually all Soviet scholars on Israel and problems of the Middle East refrained from discussing the development of relations between the Soviet Union and Israel. Even monographs especially devoted to Israel did not deal with that subject.
