ABSTRACT
While serving my country from the Opposition benches, I had what is popularly termed a flourishing love affair with the world of academic research. Social scientists aided me in the preparation of various initiatives, many of which were used in the drawing up of bills. Mainly, they enabled me to see the deficiencies in government policy and to formulate alternative ones.
