ABSTRACT

The Second World War marks an important milestone in the annals of British Intelligence. For some elements within the service, this period was a watershed, as several well-entrenched modes of operation were recognized as outdated and were completely overhauled in the course of the war. Recognition of the importance of the changes that, occurred in British Intelligence will bring us to our subject: the covert cooperation on intelligence matters between elements of British Intelligence and the Jewish Yishuv 1 during the Second World War. Among the leading figures in this cooperation was the late Reuven Shiloah (Zaslany). His productive and wideranging activities are the subject of this study.
