ABSTRACT
With the change to university status has come an increased emphasis on the role of research and the expectation that most academic staff will engage in research activity. Consequently a number of research-related staff development initiatives have been introduced at institutional, faculty and departmental levels. This chapter details developments, in one faculty, at the Manchester Metropolitan University.
