ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author looks at the process of getting published from the publisher's point of view. He outlines some of the factors the people might consider in choosing a publisher before going on to describe the processes of acceptance, contract and marketing, he then looks at issues particular to writing for a journal and discuss the appropriate 'voice' for different types of audience. Publishers receive much unsolicited material through the mail, often in the form of a covering letter and some 'finished' material. The most usual way of getting started in publishing is to write for a newspaper or journal. Practitioners and managers who wish to keep abreast of scholarship, theory-building and empirical research. The papers reflect the critical debate of contemporary issues and are located in a thorough understanding of the relevant literature.
