ABSTRACT

In this description of the University of Wolverhampton’s strategy for the development of transferable skills a key feature is the shift of emphasis from the undergraduate degree to the career lying beyond the degree. A number of transferable skills have been identified which respond to the needs expressed by employers, and these have been embedded in statements of expected learning outcomes. Curricular analyses have indicated where there were ‘gaps’ and over-concentration in learning outcomes (enabling rectification), and the University is well on the way to having all its undergraduate modules written in learning outcome format.
