ABSTRACT
Page gives an account of how the University of North London (UNL) identified a set of six generic capabilities and is introducing them into curricula in a manner similar to that which the (very different) Alverno College in the United States has pioneered. Modules are being written in terms of learning outcomes, and a mapping exercise is being undertaken in order to ensure that there is an appropriate coverage of the capabilities across programmes of study.
