ABSTRACT

It took me hours to plan my first lesson. I was suddenly aware of all the things you have to deal with when teaching science. You need to think about things like giving out lab hooks, children not having pens and pencils and getting out and packing away equipment as well as researching and presenting your subject in a clear and uncluttered way. When I started teaching, my lesson plans were extremely detailed. I planned for every little classroom event; however, as my practice progressed I was able to focus my planning on key aspects of the lesson. Things like taking the register, giving out books and packing away equipment become automatic after a while.
