ABSTRACT
Many counties and communities have designed creative approaches to integrating multiple funding streams through an array of federal and state programs to promote workforce development. This case study tells the story of three neighborhoods in Alameda County that implemented a neighborhood jobs pilot initiative (NJPI) with public and private funding support. Following a brief history and a literature review, the case study describes how the neighborhoods implemented the NJPI, as well as their strengths and challenges and the lessons they learned from the NJPI experience.
