ABSTRACT

Among the most prominent recent developments in the investigation of transformational leadership, aside from its globalization, have been the confirmation of its utility for increasing organizational satisfaction, commitment, and effectiveness; the six-factor model of the transformational-transactional factorial structure; parallel modeling for teams and organizations; and increased understanding of transforming dynamics and the ethics of transformational leaders. A discussion of the meaning of transformational and transactional leadership and the full range of leadership are illustrated by a case example.
