ABSTRACT
If we want to make an analysis of the condition of women in China in the late twentieth century, it is necessary to trace the history of this country; its vast expanse of land, deep-seated cultural tradition, modern revolutionary war, political movements, and ongoing social reform—all have exerted a great influence on the lives and development of Chinese women.
