ABSTRACT
Before I go into my actual topic, Gypsy research, I would like to remind you also on this occasion about the origin of the Gypsy culture in India and in India’s ancient culture. Although our culture—and at the same time the old and valued Indian culture—is looked down upon in Europe, anyone can read about its achievements in history books. We are proud of our Indian origin and of our culture, and under no circumstances would I want to change it to anything else. Being different from the Western culture, our Eastern culture values such things as correct behavior, respect toward the old and their experience, humanity, security among our own people, sincerity, equality, and unselfishness.
