ABSTRACT

The ministry of Charles Parham was quite extensive. Pauline Parham's newspaper collection indicate that revivals were held throughout the Midwest. Many of the newspaper articles described the new phenomenon of "Speaking in Tongues" and miraculous healings. The revivals were held between 1901 and 1906. One can also glean from Parham's picture collection that some of his followers were African Americans. Lucy Farrow, an African-American woman, was seen in a Houston, Texas picture (ca. 1904).
