ABSTRACT

The effects of music on children are obvious to anyone who has seen a young child react to the rhythms of a simple lullaby or those played by a symphony orchestra. Music, like all other art forms, can touch off an emotional response that begins in the heart and ends in the head. It can be joyful and uplifting, energetic and comforting. It can nourish the soul and reach a part of a person nothing else can. It can help develop motor skills, listening skills, and memorization. It is a masterful way to communicate when all else fails.
