Treehouses

During the war a young, presumably Jewish, boy avoiding deportation, is kept hidden by Magda, the local farmer’s daughter. His presence is a source of strain between Magda and her lover, Stephen, who believes the boy should be given up to the authorities. Traumatised by what he has seen the boy is initially silent.
