ABSTRACT
Matthew D. Melody is a failed cabaret singer. Although he means well Matthew is on medication and his behaviour can often be misinterpreted as ‘odd’. He often finds himself coming into conflict with people, from his next-door neighbours to the woman at the job centre. Matthew has fallen in love with Candy, who delivers singing telegrams and lives with a drug dealer. Candy is clearly using Matthew as a means of obtaining drugs but he doesn’t realise this and genuinely believes they are in love.
