ABSTRACT

This was one of the stories sung in p'ansori, but all that is known of it now is the summary m Kwan-u-hui, stanza 18, see Song Manjae ui Kwan-u-hui, 106-107 and 118, and P'ansori Palsaeng ko, 278-279, as described in the lntrodnction, §7. 3. The title presumably means "The Ballad of the Pseudo-Fairy", and it was apparently a story of a simpleton who was deceived into thinking that he had been turned into a fairy or magician. The two articles mentioned above both give a similar legend, and both point out that the place of this story in the repertoire of the kwangdae was taken by a version of 224 ~93 'ctJ;Hj Sugymg Nangja chOn..
