ABSTRACT
Abe Kobo’s authorship has now been studied at the Japanese Section of the University of Copenhagen for more than 15 years. As a result of these studies, various papers on his works have been published in English, Danish and Swedish. 1 Abe has visited us twice in Copenhagen, giving lectures and discussing topics of current interest. Our relationship is fine and we have come to know him quite well. His imagination and ideas are fascinating and he has an insatiable interest in everything. This does not mean, however, that I am his spokesman or that I agree with everything he says.
