ABSTRACT

Publishers usually confine their writing to outlets other than their own publications, but at the request of the artist, whom I have known for decades, I am adding a few words to what has been written by people who, unlike me, are experts in the field. This publisher in particular is “… very bad about writing letters in general, and fan letters in particular,” as I wrote to Robert Palevitz more than three years ago, when I acquired another of his paintings I particularly admired and wanted. I went on to say “… the painting gives me such pleasure each time I see it. When I open [a particular door] there it is, and I am delighted, much as I am each time I see [a thing of beauty]. It has that intense appeal for me, and as I have said before, it affords me more pleasure than I can convey.”
