ABSTRACT
It is common knowledge that on a local scale, Bulgarian folk narrative has been documented, published, and studied insufficiently and unevenly. Some parts of Bulgaria are particularly poorly studied. Among them is northeastern Bulgaria, which has to date remained almost terra incognita for the researcher of the folk narrative. 1
