ABSTRACT
Many countries contain significant ethnic minorities that claim a separate homeland, and these groups often turn to terrorism if their demands are ignored or frustrated by the authorities. They frequently target for assassination by bomb or bullet respresentatives of the regime they oppose, or else they attack symbols of its power. Alleged collaborators are also killed to control the very same minority whose aspirations the terrorists claim to represent.
