ABSTRACT
It's 7:10 on Friday night, and I have just entered the Fine Arts Center at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, to model. While waiting for the elevator to take me to the fourth-floor studios, I look at a poster pinned to the wall. Underneath an illustration of a man dangling from a gallows it reads:
Don't hang around on Friday nights! Come to Friday night drawing. Live models are provided, two, in fact - and in the flesh ... One doing a series of passionate short poses and the other appearing dead in the long pose ... From 7:30 until 10:00 pm. Open to the public.
