The Overall Pattern of Production, Disappearance, Income, and Resource Use

This chapter sets the stage for the input-oriented chapters that make up the rest of Part II. Its three main sections—(1) agricultural production and disappearance, (2) the income picture, and (3) a summary of agricultural adjustments in the United States—provide overall information on agricultural patterns from 1917 to the late 1960’s.
